Stainless steel, an alloy of iron and carbon steel with at least 12% Chromium, is a corrosion resistant steel which maintains both its strength and shape at high temperatures.

Stainless steel is a powerful candidate in material selection because of its many benefits – it is versatile, corrosion resistant, hygienic, easy to clean and maintain, has a long shelf life and is 100% recyclable.

Stainless steel may require a higher initial investment, however over the total life of the product, it offers the best value. Often, when compared with post finishing, stainless steel is less expensive and superior product. It is also cost effective in the long run because its anti-corrosive result in fewer product replacements from rust, damaging temperatures and chemical reactions.

Stainless steel is available in a variety of grades with differing qualities and benefits.

To guarantee customer satisfaction, True Blue uses only the best available and carries in stock two types of certified, mercury free, nickel containing, Austenitic stainless steel: Type 304 (19% Chromium and 9% Nickel) and Type 316 (17% Chromium and 12% Nickel).

These types of stainless steel have good corrosion resistance (T316 is more corrosion resistant), can be easily welded, have excellent maintenance and hygiene characteristics, and have an exceptional resistance to both high and low temperatures.

Type 304 and 316 are most commonly used for food processing and laboratory equipment.
